Every car has already been allocated, making it one of the rarest modern Morgans ever built.

Two years after the Morgan-Pininfarina Midsummer first captured attention and only weeks after the final speedster left production, Morgan has returned with an even more exclusive follow-up.

The new Morgan Midsummer Coupe transforms the open-top coachbuilt special into a striking fixed-head grand tourer, with only nine examples destined for customers.

The limited-run model joins an elite group of ultra-rare Morgans, matching the production volume of the Plus 8 GTR and closely echoing the exclusivity of the eight-unit CX-T.

While the original Midsummer was limited to 50 cars, the Coupe pushes rarity even further and represents what Morgan describes as a new chapter in its coachbuilding ambitions.

Visually, the Coupe draws clear inspiration from iconic Morgan projects such as the AeroMax and Aero Supersports. Its elongated bonnet, dramatic rear profile and distinctive split rear window create a silhouette that blends classic British craftsmanship with an unmistakably contemporary presence.

Morgan insists the transformation is more than cosmetic. The bespoke roof, glazing and bodywork were developed to give the Coupe its own identity rather than simply replicating the recently launched Supersport with a hardtop fitted.

Engineering changes are substantial. The roof structure is bonded directly to the body rather than relying on conventional seals, allowing the glazing to contribute to overall rigidity.

Despite the extensive glass area, the arrangement adds only a small weight increase compared with the Supersport hardtop. New billet-machined aluminium A-pillars, bonded structural glazing and fully integrated drop windows further distinguish the car from previous Morgan designs.

Inside, the handcrafted atmosphere continues with extensive teak detailing, while several unique features underline the bespoke nature of the project.

Roof-mounted window switches, a machined aluminium gear lever inspired by the Supersport 400 and a distinctive aluminium-mounted rear-view mirror all contribute to a cabin unlike anything else in Morgan’s current range.

Power comes from the more potent turbocharged straight-six used in the Supersport 400, paired with forged 19-inch wheels that Morgan describes as its most intricate wheel design yet.

All nine cars have already found owners, each working directly with Morgan to create a unique specification.

Chief Design Officer Jon Wells said the Midsummer Coupe represents the culmination of an extraordinary creative journey and hinted that further coachbuilt commissions and ambitious collaborations could follow in the future.

Preparing Your Vehicle for Long-Term Storage During a Cross-Country Move https://thecarsdaily.com/preparing-your-vehicle-for-long-term-storage-during-a-cross-country-move/ https://thecarsdaily.com/preparing-your-vehicle-for-long-term-storage-during-a-cross-country-move/#respond Thu, 18 Jun 2026 06:39:00 +0000 https://thecarsdaily.com/?p=7093 Moving across the country requires many moving parts, and your vehicle deserves a solid plan. Leaving it sitting for months can lead to hidden damage like flat spots on tires, dead batteries or degraded fluids. Proper preparation protects your vehicle from these costly issues.

Choosing the Right Storage Location

Choosing the perfect home for your car during a long-term relocation involves balancing environmental control and physical security. A clean, dry space is the foundation of good storage, as moisture can rapidly cause rust and ruin interior fabrics.

Evaluating your physical environment helps narrow down the types of storage you need. Outdoor lots expose vehicles to harsh weather, while standard indoor units provide basic shelter. On the other hand, climate-controlled spaces offer the ideal storage conditions, regulating both temperature and humidity to protect sensitive electronics and rubber seals. As highlighted by Everybody Loves Your Money, choosing the right storage solution can help prevent costly repairs and preserve a vehicle’s long-term value.

Flooring choices also influence car health. Concrete floors block moisture from rising out of the ground, whereas storing a vehicle on dirt or mud invites dampness into metal components.

Security matters just as much when protecting your investment. Although more than 850,000 vehicles are stolen each year, choosing facilities with strong physical security dramatically reduces your risk. When shopping for a high-security storage unit, opt for locations utilizing electronic alarms, heavy-duty perimeter fencing and individualized unit locks.

Preparing Your Vehicle for Storage

Preparing your vehicle for long-term storage keeps its systems protected while you focus on your cross-country transition. These tips will safeguard the battery, tires and more.

1. Cleaning the Vehicle

brad starkey eP8h7YVhFHk unsplash
Image by Brad Starkey via Unsplash

Thoroughly washing and waxing your car removes particles that could damage the paint or cause corrosion. Cleaning the interior matters just as much, as trapped moisture or organic matter can quickly promote mold and mildew. Before leaving the car, document existing damage by taking clear photos of the interior and exterior to assess if additional damage occurs in storage.

2. Fluid Maintenance

Changing the oil, coolant and brake fluid right before storage removes old contaminants that cause internal engine damage. Adding a fuel stabilizer to the gas tank stops the fuel from breaking down and forming a sticky gum that ruins the fuel pump. If shipping a car on a moving van prior to storage, drain it of fuel, then top off the antifreeze once it is in storage.

3. Battery Management

Preserving your battery during months of inactivity keeps the electrical system intact and ready to start. Disconnecting the negative terminal prevents parasitic drain.

Extreme cold weather reduces battery capacity because the chemical reactions that generate the power slow down. If you’re storing a car in a harsh climate, remove the battery and keep it in a temperature-controlled space to preserve its lifespan.

4. Tire Care

To prevent tire warping, inflate the tires to the maximum recommended levels to help them maintain their shape. For storage lasting several months, lifting the car onto jack stands removes the weight entirely from the wheels. For maximum safety, ensure you use heavy-duty stands on a flat, level surface to completely eliminate the risk of flat spots.

Pest Prevention, Vehicle Covering and Internal Security

Long-term car storage requires defending your vehicle against pests and physical damage. Mice and rats may seek shelter inside stationary vehicles, where they chew through wiring harnesses and destroy insulation. Sealing open intake vents and placing scent-based rodent repellents around the perimeter keeps these destructive invaders away.

Physical coverings offer another layer of defense for the exterior. Fabric car covers keep dust, moisture and fine scratches off the paint, but choosing a breathable material is important. These fabrics allow trapped condensation to evaporate, which shields the metal from rust.

Consider security measures while away, as criminals like to target unattended vehicles. Installing visible deterrents like heavy-duty steering wheel locks can immediately discourage thieves. Combining active pest prevention with breathable fabrics and reliable locks ensures your car stays in pristine condition until you return.

Maintaining Contact With Your Vehicle

Checking the vehicle periodically lets you catch slow tire leaks, fluid drips or pest activity before the damage escalates or becomes permanent. If distance prevents personal visits, hiring a professional service ensures ongoing maintenance like battery testing and tire rotations.

Routine monitoring makes a big difference. In fact, coordinated prevention efforts by insurance companies, auto manufacturers, law enforcement and the National Insurance Crime Bureau led to a 23% reduction in motor vehicle thefts in 2025. Consistent care keeps your car safe and ready for the road once you receive your car back from storage.

Protect Your Car During Long-Term Storage

Proper vehicle storage requires a strategy. Finding a dry location, performing basic maintenance, cleaning the surfaces, stabilizing the fuel and protecting the battery make it more likely your car will survive months of inactivity. These practical steps safeguard your investment and deliver peace of mind during your cross-country move.

The production version is expected to sit alongside a next-generation petrol-powered M3, giving buyers a choice between traditional combustion power and cutting-edge electrification.

The design leaves little doubt about its M-car heritage. BMW has woven in several references to iconic models from its back catalogue, including E30 M3-inspired four-light graphics, muscular wheel arch extensions and a dramatic rear section featuring a split ducktail spoiler reminiscent of the legendary E46 M3 CSL.

The oversized aerodynamic elements seen here are unlikely to survive the transition to production, but the distinctive three-piece bumper design and broad stance appear much closer to showroom reality.

BMW M Concept Neue Klasse

Maserati MCPura Tribute 1926 showcases £80k bespoke excess https://thecarsdaily.com/maserati-mcpura-fuoriserie-tribute-1926-modena/ https://thecarsdaily.com/maserati-mcpura-fuoriserie-tribute-1926-modena/#respond Fri, 12 Jun 2026 12:38:32 +0000 https://thecarsdaily.com/?p=7047 Maserati has turned its MCPura Cielo into a rolling tribute to a century of the Trident, and the result is a supercar that leans as heavily into bespoke luxury as it does performance.

The new MCPura Fuoriserie Tribute 1926 highlights just how far the Italian brand is willing to push personalisation, with options that can easily inflate the price well beyond six figures.

From the outset, Maserati’s modern supercars have balanced purity with extravagance.

Maserati MCPura
Maserati MCPura

The MC20 and its open-top Cielo sibling stick with a non-hybridised V6 and relatively restrained dynamics, yet buyers are encouraged to dive deep into an options list that rivals Ferrari for cost.

One previous MC20 Cielo press car reportedly carried around £80,000 of extras on top of a £235,000 list price.

The MCPura era pushes that philosophy further through the Fuoriserie programme, Maserati’s bespoke division. The Tribute 1926 build demonstrates the extremes, featuring £17,955 worth of Al Aqua Rainbow paint and a £9,505 Tridente livery, alongside further detailing that lifts the total specification close to that same £80k mark.

Maserati MCPura
Maserati MCPura

It’s a clear statement that individuality, not restraint, defines this corner of Maserati’s range.

This particular car pays homage to the Tipo 26, the first Maserati to wear the Trident when it raced at the Targa Florio in 1926 with Alfieri Maserati behind the wheel.

Revealed in Modena during the Mille Miglia festivities, the car connects the brand’s modern mid-engined supercar to its earliest motorsport roots.

Maserati describes it as both a tribute and a continuation of its century-long racing identity, a theme that runs through every surface of the build.

Finished in Grigio Lamiera Matte with Bianco Pastello, Blu Infinito and Rosso Capannelle accents, the MCPura Cielo Tribute 1926 leans heavily on motorsport heritage detailing.

Maserati MCPura

The Trident appears prominently across the bodywork, while signatures from Alfieri Maserati and mechanic Guerino Bertocchi sit on the door badges.

Even the visible carbon elements and exterior package underline just how configurable the car has become, though Maserati has not revealed the full cost of this specification.

Maserati MCPura
Maserati MCPura

Inside, changes are more restrained, with the usual luxury options joined by Trident-embroidered headrests. Maserati’s focus remains firmly on exterior impact, with the cabin playing a supporting role rather than the headline act.

Whether this one-off heads to a private collection or a museum remains unclear, but it reinforces a growing trend in the supercar world: exclusivity now comes from specification as much as performance.

In that respect, Maserati’s Fuoriserie programme is positioning the MCPura to compete not just on speed, but on individuality.

How to Detail Your Car’s Interior Like a Professional https://thecarsdaily.com/how-to-detail-your-cars-interior-like-a-professional/ https://thecarsdaily.com/how-to-detail-your-cars-interior-like-a-professional/#respond Mon, 08 Jun 2026 19:49:42 +0000 https://thecarsdaily.com/?p=7026 Car detailing helps keep your vehicle’s interior in great shape, especially after severe weather or if you’re preparing for a sale. Seats that got soaked in a storm can harbor deep-seated odors, while stubborn stains can turn off potential buyers. Detailing can take several hours or days, depending on the vehicle’s condition. If you’d rather keep your daily driver in your garage and save on service fees, follow these steps to detail it like a professional.

1. Gather Detailing Tools and Supplies

The right tools and supplies make the difference between a DIY and professional-level car detailing. Ensure you have the following before starting:

  • Vacuum: Invest in one with different attachments to reach tight and awkward spaces.
  • Brushes: Find types that suit your car’s upholstery, carpets and hard-to-reach areas.
  • Microfiber cloths: Get these in different colors for different uses. For example, use blue cloths for glass and yellow ones for upholstery.

Choose cleaning supplies designed for your interior’s materials. Search for the Environmental Protection Agency’s Safer Choice label when shopping for cleaning solutions. It indicates that a product is safe for both humans and the environment, which means it has fast biodegradability, low aquatic toxicity and sustainable packaging while also providing respiratory protection.

2. Conduct Initial Cleaning Steps

Start by emptying all storage compartments. Create separate piles for items to keep, recycle and throw away to stay organized. Once the compartments are vacant, vacuum them thoroughly from the top down.

Use an upholstery tool with short bristles to agitate dirt from fabric and carpet surfaces, and then use a crevice device to reach under seats and into corners. Ensuring you get rid of all the dust, dirt and other pollutants will improve your cabin’s air quality, as these particles can build up and cause various health concerns. Leave the windows open for several minutes after vacuuming to allow moisture to dissipate.

3. Deep Clean Your Upholstery

Black leather seats in a car
Image by Haryo Ramadantyo via Unsplash

Leather upholstery requires special care to avoid drying and cracking, while fabric seats are more forgiving but also more prone to stains and odors. They have different deep cleaning processes.

How to Clean Fabric Upholstery

First, remove loose dirt and debris with a vacuum. To get deep-seated dirt and dust, use an upholstery tool to agitate the surface. Then, spot-clean stains with the appropriate cleaners. For example, a warm water and dish soap solution is often effective for greasy stains.

If you’re using car shampoo, choose one with the right pH level to prevent fabric seat fading and reduce the need for damage corrections. Once your seats are clean and stain-free, use a handheld steamer or upholstery cleaner for an all-around deep clean. Apply the cleaner, agitate it with a brush, then wipe with a microfiber cloth. Don’t soak the seats, which can lead to mold and mildew. To protect your fresh seats from moisture, apply a fabric protector afterward.

How to Clean Leather Upholstery

Use products specifically designed for your leather upholstery, as they have cleaning and moisturizing properties to prevent dryness. If you’re using a new solution, apply a small amount in a corner or discreet area, then inspect the results on the surface.

Apply the cleaner with a cloth and work in sections to avoid saturation. Finish with a leather conditioner to restore moisture and shine to your leather upholstery.

4. Clean the Interior’s Surfaces

Once your seats are clean, focus on your cabin’s dashboards, consoles and door panels. For hard materials, a nontoxic, all-purpose cleaner is usually enough to remove grime. Spray the solution onto a cloth to avoid overusing it, then rub the surfaces clean. Use a soft brush or cloth to reach into crevices where dirt accumulates.

For windows and mirrors, use an ammonia-free glass cleaner to avoid tint damage. If you prefer a natural alternative, distilled water combined with vinegar usually works, but spot-check in a corner before applying it to the entire surface. To finish, use a dry piece of crumpled newspaper to remove any lingering streaks and absorb excess moisture.

A Professional Touch for Your Vehicle

Restoring your car’s interior to like-new condition doesn’t have to break the bank. The key is to meticulously implement the right detailing steps for its features. Set a routine schedule once you have an established process, such as a full detail every six months and a monthly light cleaning. Stay on top of your cabin’s maintenance to ensure it stays a clean and healthy environment for everyone aboard.

Brabus Bodo Turns Aston Martin Bones Into a 1,000hp GT https://thecarsdaily.com/brabus-bodo-1000hp-v12-hyper-gt-revealed/ https://thecarsdaily.com/brabus-bodo-1000hp-v12-hyper-gt-revealed/#respond Thu, 28 May 2026 16:14:37 +0000 https://thecarsdaily.com/?p=6998 Brabus has revealed one of the most outrageous grand tourers of the year, and it’s called the Bodo.

Built as a tribute to late company founder Bodo Buschmann, the €1 million hyper-GT combines a carbon-bodied redesign with a 1,000hp twin-turbo V12 and enough visual drama to make most modern supercars feel restrained.

The German tuning and coachbuilding specialist is best known for heavily modified Mercedes-Benz models, but the Bodo signals something far more ambitious.

Underneath sits the architecture of the current Aston Martin Vanquish, although you would struggle to mistake the two at first glance.

Brabus Bodo
Brabus Bodo

The Brabus receives entirely bespoke carbon-fibre bodywork, a squared-off front end, dramatic rear haunches and a low-slung silhouette that feels closer to a concept car than a production GT.

Chassis 01 arrives finished almost entirely in exposed black carbon, right down to the wheels and engine detailing, with subtle gold flakes woven into sections of the V12’s carbon trim.

Power comes from a 5.2-litre twin-turbocharged V12 producing 1,000hp and 885lb ft of torque, sent exclusively to the rear wheels through an eight-speed transaxle gearbox.

Brabus Bodo
Brabus Bodo

Despite weighing 1,910kg, Brabus claims the Bodo can dispatch 0-62mph in around three seconds before reaching a 224mph top speed.

In an era increasingly dominated by hybridised performance cars and downsized drivetrains, the Bodo feels intentionally excessive — a traditional full-fat GT with a huge combustion engine and no interest in subtlety.

Brabus Bodo
Brabus Bodo

The Aston Martin origins remain more obvious inside. The infotainment system, switchgear and overall cabin layout carry over from the donor car, although Brabus has reworked the materials extensively with new leather, exposed carbon trim and bespoke detailing throughout.

Brabus Bodo
Brabus Bodo

There’s also a panoramic glass roof and enough practicality for long-distance touring, reinforcing the Bodo’s positioning as a genuine grand tourer rather than a stripped-out hypercar.

Production will reportedly be capped at 77 examples, marking the year Brabus was founded in 1977. While the price tag sits north of €1 million before taxes and options, the Bodo reflects a growing shift within the company itself.

Brabus has gradually evolved from a traditional tuner into a manufacturer capable of creating low-volume coachbuilt vehicles with distinct identities, following projects such as the GTS Coupe and off-road-only Crawler.

The Bodo may still borrow its foundations from Aston Martin, but it points towards a future where Brabus increasingly stands on its own.

Ferrari Luce Revealed as Maranello’s 1,050hp Electric Flagship https://thecarsdaily.com/ferrari-luce-electric-supercar/ https://thecarsdaily.com/ferrari-luce-electric-supercar/#respond Tue, 26 May 2026 06:44:37 +0000 https://thecarsdaily.com/?p=6980 Ferrari has entered the electric era with the unveiling of the Luce, a landmark model that becomes the marque’s first production car powered solely by electricity.

Delivering 1,050hp, a projected 330-mile range and a top speed of 192mph, the newcomer signals one of the most significant moments in Ferrari’s modern history.

Set to arrive in the UK from early next year with pricing expected to start at around £450,000, the Ferrari Luce combines supercar performance with a radically different design philosophy.

Measuring more than five metres long and wider than the Purosangue, it adopts a distinctive five-door hatchback layout capable of carrying five occupants.

Ferrari Luce
Ferrari Luce

Ferrari worked alongside Sir Jony Ive’s design firm, LoveFrom, on elements of the project, resulting in a shape focused heavily on aerodynamic efficiency.

The company claims the Luce achieves the lowest drag coefficient of any road-going Ferrari to date, helping maximise efficiency from its substantial 122kWh battery pack.

Beneath the body sits an entirely new aluminium platform developed specifically for electric propulsion. The 800V architecture uses the battery as a structural component, creating a chassis said to be more than 35 per cent stiffer than the Purosangue while lowering the centre of gravity by 95mm.

Ferrari Luce
Ferrari Luce

Despite a kerb weight of 2,260kg, Ferrari promises exceptional agility thanks to active rear-wheel steering, torque vectoring technology and a sophisticated suspension system derived from the Purosangue’s Multimatic setup. Engineers describe it as the most comfortable Ferrari yet produced.

Power comes from four electric motors, one assigned to each wheel, generating a combined 730lb ft of torque and enabling a 0-62mph sprint in just 2.5 seconds.

Ferrari’s latest electronic control systems manage power delivery individually at each corner, while dedicated driving modes allow owners to prioritise efficiency, touring capability or outright performance.

Ferrari Luce
Ferrari Luce

Charging speeds of up to 350kW are supported, allowing rapid replenishment of the battery during long journeys.

Ferrari has also focused heavily on preserving driver engagement. Regenerative braking levels can be adjusted via steering-column paddles, while a patented sound system amplifies mechanical frequencies from the rear axle to create a unique acoustic character both inside and outside the car.

Ferrari Luce
Ferrari Luce

CEO Benedetto Vigna says the Luce has been engineered to deliver authentic Ferrari emotions while embracing a new technological future.

Whether traditionalists approve remains to be seen, but there is little doubt the Luce will become one of the most closely watched new car launches of the decade.

Visually, the Talos Porsche 911 RT takes heavy inspiration from the modern 911 GT3 R race car.

Talos says the motorsport machine was digitally scanned before its carbon-fibre bodywork was redesigned to fit the road-legal GT3 RS platform.

The result is an aggressively sculpted 911 with massive aerodynamic channels, deep side intakes, a towering rear wing and an enormous rear diffuser that would look more at home in the Le Mans paddock than outside a London restaurant.

The lightweight carbon body is claimed to reduce overall weight by around 80kg compared with the standard GT3 RS.

Talos has also revised Porsche’s naturally aspirated 4.0-litre flat-six engine, increasing output from 513bhp to approximately 540bhp while retaining the sharp throttle response and high-revving character that made the original car such a benchmark driver’s machine.

Performance improves slightly too, with the 0-62mph sprint now taking 3.0 seconds.

Beyond the engine tweaks, the Porsche 911 RT gains a bespoke exhaust system, forged magnesium centre-lock wheels and a custom suspension package developed alongside Öhlins.

Talos has fitted a digital TTX damper setup that allows drivers to adjust settings through a smartphone app, adding a modern layer of usability to an otherwise uncompromising road racer.

While some will inevitably question whether the Talos RT justifies its extraordinary price, exclusivity appears to be the point.

This isn’t intended to rival a standard GT3 RS on value. Instead, it targets collectors and enthusiasts who want a Porsche that feels closer to a GT endurance racer than a conventional supercar.

In an era increasingly dominated by electrification and software-led performance, the Talos Porsche 911 RT doubles down on old-school theatre, naturally aspirated power and visual excess.
